The Alabama Public Library Service is seeking a qualified book‑jobber to supply “shelf‑ready” books from any publisher and to operate an online catalog that provides bibliographic and inventory data for the state’s library network. The contract is an indefinite‑delivery arrangement with a 12‑month base term, renewable up to five years, and will be awarded to the bidder offering the highest whole‑number trade‑discount percentage while meeting all technical and logistical requirements.
• Supply shelf‑ready books (mylar‑jacketed, laminated paperback covers) on an as‑needed basis, with at least 60 % of any order shipped in the first delivery.
• Maintain a web portal that shows bibliographic details, stock levels, and allows multiple shopping carts under a central APLS admin account.
• Deliver all orders FOB destination within 30 days of receipt; freight and return freight are included in the bid price.
• Fulfill or cancel orders within 180 days; respond to any state information request within 5 days.
• Contract length: 12‑month base period with up to four optional 12‑month extensions, all using the same pricing terms.
