Description
The Alabama Department of Corrections is seeking a vendor to provide uniformed security guards (armed and/or unarmed) to safeguard incarcerated inmates while they receive medical care in non‑prison hospitals, mental‑health facilities, and clinics throughout the state. The contract is structured as an hourly‑rate ITB with a minimum wage of $12/hr for unarmed guards and $15/hr for armed guards, and the supplier must meet extensive licensing, insurance, training, HIPAA, and background‑check requirements. Attendance at the mandatory pre‑bid conference on July 29 2026 is required, and the contract will run for an initial 12‑month term with up to four optional 12‑month extensions.
• Supply armed/unarmed correctional guards for hospital/clinic settings on a 24/7 basis.
• Guard personnel must hold an Alabama Security Regulatory Board license, satisfy $2 M liability insurance, and comply with PREA and HIPAA training standards.
