RFQ - As-Needed Cremation Services for Unclaimed Remains

The County of El Dorado seeks to create a Qualified List of providers capable of delivering on‑as‑needed cremation services for unclaimed human remains handled by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office. The contract will be indefinite‑delivery, with individual work orders issued as needs arise, and the Qualified List remains valid for up to three years. Providers must hold a valid California Funeral Establishment and/or Crematory license, possess the required insurance coverage, and be able to manage secure handling, identification, record‑keeping, and post‑cremation documentation in compliance with state health statutes. • Perform cremations, secure handling, and identification of unclaimed remains on an as‑needed basis. • Maintain complete chain‑of‑custody records, cremation permits, and final disposition certificates. • Submit a detailed fee schedule (hourly rates, after‑hours, travel, etc.) that will be kept confidential until a winner is selected. • Must meet insurance requirements (general liability, workers’ comp, professional liability) and provide required certifications and references. • No guarantee of minimum work volume; assignments may be issued via individual work orders or competitive submittals from at least three qualified respondents.
