Description

The San Francisco VA Healthcare System (SFVAHCS) is seeking a vendor to provide prostate cancer-specific sequencing services for a VA Merit award study under Dr. Franklin W. Huang, MD, Ph.D. The vendor will perform prostate cancer-specific sequencing for the SFVAHCS over a 3-year period, including minimum 30x and 60x coverage, FFPE-compatible workflow, tumor-normal matched sequencing, and secure data transfer method. The scope of work includes performing PCR+ Human WGS - 30x v3_FFPE_DRAGEN and 60x v3_FFPE_DRAGEN for 150 samples, ensuring anonymization and secure handling of all samples, and providing tumor and normal genome sequencing specific to prostate cancer tissue. Some key points to consider are: • The vendor must have a prostate cancer-specific sequencing protocol critical to the success of the study. • The vendor will work with previously collected tissue samples and prospectively collected samples from African American men undergoing radical prostatectomy. • The vendor must ensure sufficient data yield and quality for both the Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) runs and downstream analysis. • The vendor must provide quality metrics, such as Q30 and coverage uniformity.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $5,000,000

Based on the information provided, it is difficult to estimate the exact budget for this opportunity. However, considering the scope of work, which includes performing prostate cancer-specific sequencing services for 150 samples, and the fact that the applicable NAICS code has a $19M size standard, the budget could be substantial. The budget may be influenced by factors such as the complexity of the sequencing services, the number of samples to be processed, and the level of expertise required. A rough estimate could be in the range of $500,000 to $5,000,000, considering the scope of work and the size standard.
