Description

This opportunity provides support for the development of Miniaturization and Automation of Tissue Chip Systems (MATChS) using the STTR cooperative agreement mechanisms. The project aims to develop tools and turnkey technologies for higher throughput automated measures with on-line sensing, rapid acquisition, and analysis of data to reduce manual handling. The funded projects will result in an increased availability of miniaturized automated tissue chip platforms for use in drug development and across multiple applications as a major research tool in biomedical research laboratories. Key aspects of the project include: • Development of MATChS using STTR cooperative agreement mechanisms • Research and development of tools and turnkey technologies for higher throughput automated measures • Reduction of manual handling through on-line sensing, rapid acquisition, and analysis of data • Increased availability of miniaturized automated tissue chip platforms for use in drug development and multiple applications • Collaboration with NIH staff to develop milestones and benchmarks and work towards progress in the aims of the project.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is not explicitly stated, but based on the information provided, it seems that the project will involve research and development of tools and turnkey technologies, which could potentially require significant funding. A rough estimate for the budget could be in the range of $500,000 to $2 million, considering the scope of the project and the involvement of the National Institutes of Health. However, this is a rough estimate and the actual budget could be higher or lower, depending on the specific requirements of the project and the number of applicants.
