Description
The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System is seeking information from potential vendors to provide deceased patient transportation services. The services will include transporting deceased patients from the University Drive or Heinz locations to UPMC or The Allegheny County Coroner's Office. The vendor will be responsible for transporting the body and all appropriate documentation provided by the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare. The contract is expected to be a 5-year firm fixed price contract.
Key requirements include:
• The ability to pick up and drop off at all required locations
• The ability to arrive at the pick-up location within 60 minutes of notification
• The ability to anticipate at least a 30-minute total wait time during the pick-up and delivery of the deceased
• The ability to charge for any additional 15 minutes of wait time beyond the established 30-minute wait time
