Server Backup Services

The Savannah Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) seeks a qualified IT firm to design, implement, document, monitor, and support a comprehensive backup and recovery solution for 25 production‑critical servers and associated Microsoft 365 workloads. The contract will be for an initial one‑year term with the possibility of up to three annual renewals. The selected vendor must provide both local on‑premises backup (using MPC‑provided hardware) and secure off‑premises/cloud backup, ensure encryption at rest and in transit, define RPO/RTO targets, conduct regular restore testing, and deliver ongoing monitoring, reporting, and incident‑notification services, including hurricane‑preparedness procedures. • Assess existing server environment and MPC‑provided backup hardware. • Design and configure backup schedules, retention policies, and security controls. • Implement dual‑backup architecture (local + cloud) supporting Windows, Linux, virtualized workloads, and Microsoft 365 data. • Provide 24/7 monitoring, failure remediation, and monthly performance reports. • Offer incident‑response notifications (loss of remote backup, extended outages, emergencies) within 24 hours. • Conduct quarterly restore tests and provide training/knowledge transfer to MPC staff. • Supply all required software licenses, cloud subscriptions, and support for the service term.
