Description

The VA San Diego Healthcare System is seeking information from potential contractors to provide Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IOM) services. The contractor will be responsible for providing IOM specialists to perform services on an as-needed basis. The IOM specialists will be required to have specific qualifications, including a Master's degree in Audiology or a Doctorate degree in Audiology or Medicine. They will be responsible for performing various tasks, including setting up scientific equipment, monitoring complex nerve impulses, and notifying the surgeon of any danger to the patient's nerve pathways during a surgical procedure. The contractor will also be responsible for providing all necessary equipment and supplies. Some key points to consider: • The contractor must have experience in Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring and Evoked Potentials. • The IOM specialists must be well-versed in all aspects of Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring, including Auditory Brainstem Response, Visual Evoked Response, and Somatosensory Evoked Potential. • The contractor must have a current, valid, unrestricted license to practice Medicine or Audiology in the State of California. • The IOM specialists must have monitored at least 20 cases within the preceding calendar year. • The contractor must provide a list of key personnel and their National Provider Identifier (NPI) upon award of the contract.

Budget estimate

$2,500,000 – $7,500,000

The budget for this contract can be estimated based on the scope of work and the qualifications required for the IOM specialists. Assuming the contractor will need to provide at least 2-3 IOM specialists, each with a salary range of $80,000 to $120,000 per year, and considering the equipment and supplies costs, the total contract value could be in the range of $500,000 to $1,500,000 per year. With the base period plus 4 option years, the total contract value could be around $2,500,000 to $7,500,000.
