Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking information from potential contractors to provide fire extinguisher inspection, maintenance, and repair services at the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS) campus. The services include monthly inspections of portable fire extinguishers, semi-annual inspections of kitchen hood fire suppression systems, and annual maintenance of portable fire extinguishers. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and quality assurance necessary to complete the services. The contractor must have experience in providing similar services and must be trained and certified in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
Some key services and their frequencies include:
• Portable fire extinguisher inspections: monthly
• Kitchen hood fire suppression system inspections: semi-annually
• Portable fire extinguisher maintenance: annually
• Kitchen hood cleaning and inspection: bi-annually
The contractor will be required to provide reports and documentation, including inspection tags, maintenance records, and quotes for repairs. The contractor must also ensure that all work is performed in accordance with NFPA standards and VA regulations.
