Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

The budget for this contract is likely to be substantial, given the scope of work and the fact that the City is seeking a contractor to provide 24-hour monitoring services for all existing City-owned fire and security systems. The contract term is for one year, with the option to renew for two additional one-year terms, which suggests that the City is looking for a long-term partner to provide these services. Based on industry benchmarks, the average cost of alarm monitoring services can range from $10 to $50 per month per system, depending on the level of service and the type of system being monitored. Assuming an average cost of $30 per month per system, and assuming that the City has approximately 100 systems to be monitored (a rough estimate based on the fact that the City has a large number of buildings and facilities), the total annual cost of the contract would be approximately $360,000. However, this is just a rough estimate, and the actual budget for the contract could be higher or lower, depending on the specific requirements of the City and the bids received from contractors. Other factors that could influence the budget include the cost of maintenance and repair services, the cost of any necessary upgrades or replacements to the City's existing alarm systems, and the cost of any additional services that the contractor may be required to provide.
