The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking sources capable of providing repetitive delivery of various food sandwiches to the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. The contractor shall deliver fresh food sandwiches on an as-needed basis, in accordance with delivery schedules. The awarded contract will be for a one-year purchase order with a period of performance from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026. Key requirements include providing sandwiches that meet specific product definitions, maintaining health codes and standards of sanitation and safety, and storing perishable food items at proper temperatures. • The contractor must provide at least 4 varieties of beef and/or pork, and 2 varieties of chicken, turkey, and vegetarian sandwiches. • The contractor must guarantee that unopened food items remain fresh for at least 5 days after delivery. • The contractor must store perishable food items at or below 40 degrees Fahrenheit and frozen foods at or below 0 degrees Fahrenheit. • The contractor must provide its staff with ongoing training in food handling and preparation, sanitation, and safety procedures. • The contractor must ensure that all contract staff are tested annually for Tuberculosis.
