The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) is seeking to establish a single-source purchase contract with Kyra Solutions, Inc. for the enhancement, management, and maintenance of the GEOlogic Data Enterprise System (GEODES). The system is a centralized digital repository for subsurface data, including borehole samples, geophysical logs, and well locations. The primary goal is to ensure that the FGS continues to benefit Florida's environment and communities by providing high-quality geoscience products that support water-resource conservation, natural resource management, and economic growth.
Key requirements of the project include:
• Development of mapping and modeling tools to improve the public's understanding of geological hazards
• A public-facing portal to ensure that essential subsurface information is readily accessible to researchers, state and federal agency partners, and the public
• An interoperable architecture that allows for seamless data sharing across local, state, and federal platforms
• Rigorous data quality controls to ensure the integrity of all archived geoscience information
• A long-term maintenance and support plan to ensure 24/7 availability of the repository
