Replacement of Air Conditioning Unit for Police Department

The City of South Daytona is seeking a contractor to replace the existing 5-ton air conditioning unit at the Police Department. The objective is to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and performance of the current HVAC system. The selected contractor will be responsible for the complete retrofitting process, including the removal of the old unit, installation of the new unit, and all necessary modifications to the existing infrastructure. The project must be completed within 30 days from the date of the contract award. Key aspects of the project include: • Retrofitting a 5-ton air conditioning unit with a minimum Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 11.0 and a minimum Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) of 16.0 • Installing a new air handler, programmable thermostat, and all necessary ductwork modifications • Ensuring compliance with the latest edition of the Florida Building Code (FBC), American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) standards, and National Electrical Code (NEC) • Providing training to the Police Department's maintenance staff on the operation and maintenance of the new system
