Description

The City of Pensacola is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide childcare services at the Alice S. Williams Library. The selected provider will operate under a lease agreement with the City, with annual reviews and the potential for a multi-year property lease extension. The program will serve approximately 24 infants ages 0-1 in newly renovated historic space. The City's goals are to increase access to high-quality infant care, provide a community space for caregivers and families, support healthcare screenings, diagnostics, preventative care, education, and workforce development, and establish a model facility meeting or exceeding Department of Defense Child Development Program and Florida DCF Gold Seal Accreditation standards. • The provider must hold a valid Florida DCF Child Care License and provide evidence of liability insurance with minimum limits of $1 million per occurrence / $3 million aggregate. • The provider must maintain DCF compliance and City contractual requirements, provide access to all data, records, and staff information upon request, and comply with the more stringent of DCF or DoD standards in all cases. • The provider must have a minimum of 40 hours of DCF-approved training completed covering topics such as child growth, behavioral observation, and health and safety procedures. • The provider must articulate an emergency preparedness plan, conduct regular safety drills with staff and children, and be willing to meet with City of Pensacola staff to create appropriate plans to ensure the safety and well-being of the children in the care of the operator.
