Description

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate and award a contract to In Silichrom Ltd for the project "Genomic Regulatory Network of the Retina". The project aims to elucidate the nature of gene regulatory networks during development and how these are disrupted in aging and disease to help design novel treatment paradigms for blinding largely incurable retinal and macular degenerative diseases. The contractor will pre-process diverse raw data generated in the lab by Next Generation Sequencing methods, integrate data using state-of-the-art statistical modeling, generate genomic regulatory networks, and develop user-friendly tools to allow biologists to explore the data. The contractor will also identify retina-specific genomic features, explore biological and medical significance, and attend regular meetings with the people involved in the project. • The project involves the analysis of genomic data to understand gene regulatory networks in the retina. • The contractor will use state-of-the-art statistical modeling to integrate data from various sources. • The project aims to design novel treatment paradigms for retinal and macular degenerative diseases. • The contractor will develop user-friendly tools to allow biologists to explore the data. • The project involves collaboration with the NIH and participation in the publication of the work in peer-review journals.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $300,000

The budget for this contract is not explicitly stated in the document. However, based on the fact that the contract is not expected to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold of $350,000, we can estimate the budget to be below this amount. Considering the scope of work, which involves advanced genomic data analysis, statistical modeling, and software development, a reasonable estimate for the budget could be between $100,000 and $300,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the contractor will need to invest significant resources in personnel, equipment, and software to complete the project. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the data analysis, the number of personnel required, and the duration of the project.
