Fire Department Self Contained Breathing Apparatus & Oxygen Compressor Testing, Maintenance, Inspections, Parts and other Repairs

The City of Santa Monica Fire Department is seeking a vendor to provide testing and maintenance services for Scott self-contained breathing apparatus and associated equipment, as well as oxygen compressor maintenance and service. The contract will be for a firm-fixed period of five years. The vendor will be responsible for providing comprehensive services, including testing, maintenance, inspections, and repairs, in accordance with manufacturer-recommended schedules. The vendor must have at least three years of recent experience performing routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on Scott Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and Bauer SCBA Compressors. The vendor must also demonstrate experience working with Southern California professional fire departments. Some key services include: • Breathing air and oxygen compressor services, testing, maintenance, inspections, and repairs • Annual onsite inspection, testing, maintenance, and recertification of approximately 100 SCBA units • Annual fit testing on all 125 Fire Department personnel assigned SCBA masks • Intermittent flow testing and mobile services for SCBA maintenance and repairs The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all minor irregularities. • The contract will be awarded based on the best bidder, considering factors such as price, quality of materials and services, ability to perform the contract, and experience. • The City has the right to determine whether any substitutions or deviations are within the intent of the bid specifications and will reasonably meet the service requirements of the City. • The successful bidder must be an authorized service and parts provider for Scott Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and Bauer SCBA Compressors. • The contract will include a living wage ordinance, which requires the contractor to pay its employees a minimum wage of $20.32 per hour. • The City reserves the right to terminate the contract at any time, with or without cause, by giving the contractor ten days' written notice.
