Description
The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a contractor to provide as-needed telephone interpreter language services for DMV investigations. The contractor will provide interpreters for a variety of languages, including certified and registered languages. The contractor must ensure that at least 90% of all interpreter services are performed by certified or registered interpreters. The contractor will be responsible for providing a toll-free telephone number for DMV customers to access interpreter services. The contractor will also be responsible for ensuring that all interpreter services are provided in a professional and confidential manner.
• The contract term is 12 months with an option to extend for an additional 12 months.
• The contractor must be certified by the State of California, Department of General Services (DGS), Office of Small Business and Disabled Veteran Enterprise Services (OSDS) as a Certified Small Business.
• The contractor must provide a certified interpreter as defined in Government Code Section 11435.55, unless advance authorization has been provided by the DMV.
• The contractor must ensure that all interpreters utilized by the contractor during the term of this Agreement must reside within the continental United States of America.
