Next Generation Telecom Transport

The contract is for the deployment of a Next Generation Telecom Transport Network (the "Network") that will provide the District with an IP/MPLS wide area network (WAN) transport for all time-division multiplexed (TDM) and Ethernet applications utilizing existing fiber assets. The project involves the installation of Nokia 7250 IXR nodes at nine District locations to create a 100Gbps core, and Nokia 7705 SAR nodes at substations, offices, and generation sites to create a 10Gbps network.
