Chromium X controller upgrade

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate and award a contract without providing for full and open competition to 10X Genomics, Inc. for the Chromium X controller upgrade. The Chromium X Controller is a key tool in the collaborative research group for single-cell research, utilizing Next GEM technology to enable multi-dimensional single-cell analysis on a single system. The NIH uses the 10X controller for measuring the transcriptome of freshly obtained cells of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and blood immune cells from participants enrolled in clinical studies/trials to uncover biology. • The contract includes the Chromium X controller upgrade • The NIH uses the 10X controller for single-nuclei from autopsy tissue and for transcriptomic profiling of PFA- and FFPE-fixed tissues • The output is multi-dimensional, measuring not only the transcriptome but also cell surface proteins on the cells and the receptors of certain immune cells • The NIH intends to use this device for multiple sclerosis (MS), HAM/TSP (Tropical spastic paraparesis), and PML (Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy) primarily
