Description
The County of Cameron is seeking a qualified concessionaire to operate a 440‑sq‑ft snack‑bar facility at the Sand Piper Pavilion in Isla Blanca Park, South Padre Island. The concessionaire will run a self‑service food and beverage outlet, providing breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack items (no glass containers) and may sell alcohol/tobacco only with County approval and a TABC license. The contract is a fixed‑rate concession with a guaranteed annual rent and a revenue‑share provision, lasting for a multi‑year term.
• Operate the existing “as‑is” 440 sq ft building, supplying all equipment, signage, staffing, utilities (except water/sewer) and complying with health, safety, and licensing requirements.
• Propose an annual flat‑rate rent (minimum $8,400 per year) and be prepared to pay 10 % of gross sales if that exceeds the flat rate; monthly payments with a 10 % per‑day late fee after the 10th.
• Provide required insurance (general liability $500k/$1M, property $500k/$1M, fire $100k, etc.), maintain records for three years, and submit monthly financial reports and annual gross‑receipt statements.
• Contract period is 4 years (per award tabulation) with a start date of 24 Mar 2026; early termination possible with 30‑day notice after the first 180 days.
• All bidders must submit a $500 bid bond, a signed acknowledgment, and meet the March 11, 2026 bid deadline (sealed envelope plus searchable PDF).
