Library Shelving Purchase and Book Removal and Storage Services

The Boulder Public Library is seeking a vendor to replace the steel book shelving housing its non-fiction collection. The project involves four main tasks: removal of the collection from the current shelving, dismantling and recycling of the current shelving, purchase and installation of new steel shelving, and replacement of the books in Dewey Decimal order to the new shelving. The library will provide a floor plan, supervision of book removal and replacement, and areas for staging and storage. The vendor will be responsible for purchasing replacement shelving, designing shelving runs, removing and storing books, dismantling and recycling current shelving, and installing new shelving. • The project requires the removal of approximately 30,000 books from the current shelving and storage in designated areas. • The vendor must supply book carts for the collection and remove the current shelving, including end panels and frames. • The new shelving must be 66” tall with primarily 4 flat shelves with adjustable back stops per face, a flat base shelf, and coordinating magnetic bookends. • The vendor must receive, install, and clean the replacement shelving, and replace the book collection in Dewey Decimal order.
