Mobile X-Ray Inspection Vehicles

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking feedback from industry on draft requirements documents related to Non-Intrusive Inspection (NII) technologies, specifically for Mobile X-Ray Inspection Vehicles. The CBP requires Dual View (vertical and horizontal views) Mobile X-Ray Vehicles to provide CBP officers with a mobile x-ray capability to conduct Non-Intrusive Inspections (NII) of passenger baggage and parcels at United States (U.S.) land, air, and seaports of entry (POEs). The vehicles must be safe and create exposure rates as low as possible. • The system must be a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) system, but the Government may require modifications to the COTS design. • The system must provide CBP officers with NII capabilities at U.S. POEs. • The vehicles shall be offered as a turn-key system, including equipment, installation, testing, verification, documentation, and logistics requirements. • The CBP intends to procure up to 130 Mobile X-Ray Inspection Vehicles during the five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity period of performance.
