Description
The City of Salem is seeking proposals from providers of a wide range of books, audio-visual materials, and related services for the Salem Public Library. The successful proposer must be capable of supplying one or more products from the following categories: regular print books, large print books, video products, and audio products. The proposer must have the capability to accept orders electronically, provide online search and ordering systems, and offer customized selection lists to individual library staff. The contract will be awarded to one or more proposers who can meet the City's current requirements.
• The proposer must have experience in the distribution industry and represent a variety of publishers.
• The proposer must be able to provide shipments of items on order prior to street date.
• The proposer must have a customer support structure and provide customized selection lists for individual library staff.
• The proposer must be able to provide MARC records and classify items according to the Dewey Decimal Classification system.
• The proposer must be able to provide shelf-ready material per library specifications.
