Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to repair the HVAC system in a 2013 Freightliner M Line Shuttlebus. The contractor will be required to furnish labor, manufacturer-approved parts and materials, and equipment to complete the tasks defined in the Statement of Work. The work includes conducting a detailed inspection of the entire HVAC system, providing a written diagnostic report, inspecting and repairing faulty generators, and conducting vacuum and leak tests. The contractor must have an established business with a full-time staff, including mechanics and technicians who are fully certified to complete the scope of work.
* Key tasks include:
* Conducting a detailed inspection of the entire HVAC system
* Providing a written diagnostic report

* Replacing or repairing dead batteries powering the generators
* Reinstalling and tightening loose suction side lines at the TXV for both cab and rear AC units
* Installing a new O-ring on the rear unit (left side) where identified
* Charging the HVAC systems with the appropriate amount of R134A Freon
* Ensuring the systems are charged correctly to manufacturers specifications
* Testing the vehicle to confirm proper cooling
* Diagnosing and repairing or replacing leaking heater control valves
* Realignment and correct mounting of new compressors
* Performing a complete functional test of both front and rear HVAC systems
* Conducting a quality control inspection to ensure both systems are operating correctly and meet DOT inspection standards
