Zero Waste Services for Special Events (Staffing, Sorting, and Education)

The City of Golden is seeking proposals for zero waste services for special events. The selected contractor will provide trained staff to monitor waste stations, educate attendees, and ensure proper handling and disposal of materials. The services are intended to improve waste diversion outcomes, reduce contamination in recycling and organics streams, and support the City’s sustainability goals. The contractor will be responsible for providing all staffing, coordination, and on-site operational support necessary to ensure proper waste sorting, contamination prevention, public education, and full chain of custody of collected materials at designated zero waste stations. • The City anticipates approximately 10-15 special events annually. • The contractor will be required to provide staffed zero waste stations, material sorting, and public education services. • The contractor will be responsible for managing organics materials, including chain of custody and delivery to certified composting facilities or approved end processors. • The contractor will be required to provide unit-based or scalable pricing to support services across events of varying size. • The City reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, in part or in whole, and to award to the most responsive and responsible firm(s) as deemed in the best interest of the City.
