CONFIDENTIAL DOCUMENT SHREDDING SERVICES

The County of Hawaii is seeking confidential document shredding services for the Office of the Corporation Counsel. The services include the shredding of confidential documents, with an estimated 45 bankers boxes weighing approximately 30 lbs. each to be picked up at 550 Kilauea Avenue in Hilo, and 25 bankers boxes weighing approximately 30 lbs. each to be picked up at 101 Aupuni Street, Suite 325 in Hilo. The vendor must be AAA certified by the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) and provide security bonding for employees who will participate in the shredding of documents. The contract was awarded to Shred-it, as they were the next low bidder after HMP Inc. (dba Business Services Hawaii) was found not to meet the County's requirement of being AAA certified. • The contract requires the shredding of confidential documents in accordance with HRS Chapter 487R. • The vendor must provide a receipt at the time of pick up and a "Certificate of Destruction" within two working days of material destruction. • The vendor must be AAA certified by the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID). • The vendor must provide security bonding for employees who will participate in the shredding of documents.
