The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs is seeking a contractor to predict areas of the Massachusetts seafloor that have been relatively resistant to long-term temperature and current changes and seabed mobility. The ultimate goal is to identify locations of relative temperature resilience and seabed stability that will then be integrated by CZM into a larger model to identify potential Special, Sensitive, or Unique seafloor habitats.
The key aspects of this project include:
• Predicting areas of the Massachusetts seafloor with relative temperature resilience and seabed stability
• Utilizing existing datasets, such as NECOFS hindcast, for data processing, analysis, and mapping
• Focusing on the entire Massachusetts seafloor, spanning from MLW or MLLW to the federal/state boundary, plus an additional 3 nautical miles beyond
• Submitting a proposal that includes all necessary information, as outlined in the RFR
