Description

The State of Missouri is seeking a vendor to provide a turnkey walk‑through weapons detection system (WDS) with an integrated X‑ray scanner for the Missouri Capitol Police and the Governor’s Mansion. The contract may be awarded on a purchase or multi‑year lease basis and includes equipment supply, installation, calibration, training, and a full‑service maintenance agreement for a one‑year period. Vendors must attend a mandatory pre‑proposal conference and building tour on October 16, 2026, and submit a sealed electronic proposal by October 30, 2026. • Two contract options: (1) purchase of single‑lane WDS plus X‑ray component with a one‑year maintenance warranty; (2) lease of the same system with all maintenance and repairs included. • Minimum system capabilities: weapon detection, classification, real‑time alerts, WLAN connectivity, 30‑day data storage, and non‑intrusive walk‑through operation. • Required deliverables: hardware, software, installation, configuration, calibration, testing, operator training, and 24/7 support with a 2‑hour response time for service calls. • Equipment locations: South Entrance and Garage Entrance of the Missouri State Capitol and optionally the Governor’s Mansion. • Mandatory on‑site tour and pre‑proposal conference; vendors must be registered in MissouriBUYS with “Approved” status.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The solicitation does not disclose a dollar value. Based on comparable state security‑system contracts for a single‑lane metal detector with X‑ray integration, plus installation, training, and a one‑year maintenance agreement, total contract value is likely between $0.5 million and $2 million. The lower end assumes a lease‑only option with minimal accessories; the higher end reflects a full purchase, extensive installation, and comprehensive support. Factors influencing the final amount include the chosen contract option (purchase vs. lease), quantity of units (multiple entry points), and any additional integration with existing security networks.
