Description

The Veterans Health Administration is seeking a qualified small‑business contractor to provide comprehensive physicist and health‑safety officer services to the VAMC in Manchester, NH. The contractor must staff qualified NRC‑licensed health physicists and diagnostic medical physicists to perform radiation safety, equipment testing, training, policy development, and emergency response for imaging, dental, nuclear‑medicine, MRI, CT, and ultrasound modalities. All work must be performed by the contractor’s own personnel (no subcontracting) and include rapid 30‑minute phone and 1‑hour on‑site emergency response capability. The contract is a 12‑month base period with up to four additional 12‑month options. The solicitation is set‑aside 100 % to small businesses and follows FAR 12.202 streamlined procedures. • Provide nuclear radiation health‑physics coverage, training, policy templates, and emergency response for imaging & dental departments. • Perform diagnostic medical physics services: equipment acceptance testing, shielding verification, CT dose optimization, MRI safety support, and routine calibration/maintenance. • Deliver documentation (equipment logs, calibration reports, training records) and maintain compliance with VA security and privacy regulations. • Must hold active SAM registration, SBA small‑business certification, and possess all required licenses/permits.

Budget estimate

$600,000 – $1,500,000

No contract value is disclosed, but similar VA medical‑physics support contracts for a 12‑month base period typically range from $600,000 to $1,500,000, depending on staffing levels, travel, and equipment costs. The estimate accounts for a team of 2‑3 full‑time physicists, travel expenses to Manchester, and the extensive testing/training deliverables required. With four optional extensions, the total potential award could approach $7‑8 million over five years.
