Description
The Office of Court Management (OCM) of the Massachusetts Trial Court is seeking applicants to join the approved list of court transcribers that will transcribe recorded Trial Court proceedings upon the request of attorneys, parties, the courts, court personnel, other court users, and members of the public. The selected vendors will be required to execute and submit the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Standard Contract Form, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Sign Up Form, Verification of Taxation Reporting Information (W-9), and Contractor Authorized Signatory Listing (CASL) Form. The contract will consist of the Commonwealth Terms and Conditions, Standard Contract Form, RFP, and other necessary documents. The OCM reserves the right to amend or cancel this RFP at any time.
Key aspects of the job include:
• Transcribing recorded Trial Court proceedings
• Preparing transcripts in accordance with the Massachusetts Trial Court Uniform Transcript Format (UTF)
• Meeting transcription time standards, including 30 calendar days for 10 days or less of recordings and 60 calendar days for 10 days or more of recordings
• Maintaining transcription equipment and notifying the Office of Transcription Services (OTS) of any malfunctions
• Having the ability to produce official, verbatim transcripts from digital audio recordings of court proceedings
• Complying with the Massachusetts Trial Court Uniform Transcript Format (UTF) and other standards and requirements outlined in the RFP
